The Original Wellshot Hotel in

Above is the Wellshot Hotel in 1898

The hotel was originally from a small railway siding west of Anakie, called 'Withersfield' and was erected in Barcaldine, where it stood for approximately 10 years.

As the railway line moved further west, the forward thinking Paddy Finn thought it a good idea to follow, so he dismantled the pub in Barcaldine, carted it to Ilfracombe by bullock and cart, erected it on its current place and called it the 'Wellshot Hotel'.

The Hotel has been lovingly restored with modern day comforts, yet has managed to retain its warm and friendly atmosphere.
Call in and say 'gidday' to Tracy & Paul (new owners 2016) and staff or just pull up a stool, grab a 'coldie' and have a chat with one of the locals.

Cold beers and other refreshments are available, along with a range of meals and accommodation, catering for singles, doubles or families.
